A G O R A - conditions for participation
- For participation we recommend a duration of 14 days (21 would be much better) because everybody needs time to explore the situation at the place and within the social structure, to find out, how to realize the own ideas, the own performance.
- Every participant has to pay travelling costs to and from Vienna on his/her own. It is up to you to schedule your time of presence here some-when in between the middle of June until to about the 20th of August every year. This freedom is not available if you participate in the AGORA BUDAPEST (Hungary), because we stay there only for one week in the beginning of august.
- Material for creative working is free. For special whishes you have to get in contact with us early enough, so that we can try to arrange this with our sponsors. We have a small budget for extras, but early enough contact may increase the chance to realise these special needs. At the place of AGORA we have nearly all materials for common creative activities.
- Because of good contacts to different sponsors of the AGORA we can organise a cheap place for staying - room with breakfast for about 22,-$ a day. Everybody is asked to pay this for him/herself. Current prices for staying in Vienna tend to be much higher.
- Once a week we organise a creative afternoon at the AGORA, with free food and drinks for our participants and friends. During this time we have concerts of different groups and literature-performances.
- For the time of your stay the "Vienna Tourism Organisation" sponsors a free tramway+metro+bus-ticket for each participant, who comes from outside of Vienna (especialy foreign people). So everybody has an easy chance to explore the Viennese way of life.
- It is sometimes possible to stay in the flat or the studio of a local artist, but of course this depends on your relation to this person, what we cannot guarantee in advance. But if you get friends with someone, it can often mean a chance for having a place to stay
- When somebody sells a sculpture or a painting, or another product of art, that has been made at the AGORA, we take no shares of the price, but expect to get back our investments for materials and other things that we have provided to you.
- If you are interested in our seminar "AGORA" then contact us. The latest date that You will be accepted as a participant is the end of March every year. It is possible to confirm your participation later on (absolute latest date: middle of May). But in this case Your name will not be listed on the poster and in the programme. In this case you will be presented in the final report in autumn.
- If you have confirmed but cannot come - for what ever reason - please get in contact with us!!! At latest 4 weeks before your planned arriving in Vienna!!! Otherwise we have to pay a high price for cancelation (storno). If you provide us with information about Your arrival early enough, we will pick You up from the railwaystation (or airport) and bring You to the AGORA and to the place of your stay.
